"It all began in February 1978, at the Train Station Restaurant in State College, PA. Our dipping mustard was a staple at the bar with pretzels and drinks. It was a unique specialty that became a big hit with the bar crowd. Soon customers began asking us for dip to enjoy at home."
"As soon as Herlocher’s Dipping Mustard became available for take- out, the word spread fast. Customers throughout the Northeast began asking for it at their local stores. We were thrilled when the local grocery stores started calling and put our DIPP on their shelves."
"In June of 1978, a Penn State student sent a letter with $20 enclosed. The note read, “Dear Mr. Herlocher, I moved to California after graduation, and I cannot live without your mustard. Please send me whatever this will get me.” We had a cult following! At least that is what we liked to think at the time! There are many Penn State memories included our mustard."
